MY STORY
I never intended this to be strictly business for me. During the strikes, like a lot of people, I smashed into that wall with zero cushion and had to crawl forward once the old paths vanished. I devoted my whole life to the film industry. I went to school for it and stacked up debt chasing my dreams. Year after year I got sh*t on relentlessly climbing the ladder, but I kept shoving forward through the brutality. I poured every bit of myself into the work because I believed in it. I learned early on that talent standing alone doesn't cut it and ideas you love don't budge just because they're yours. You need clarity when the world is shattering around you, discipline when you're bone dry on energy, and people around who actually get the hell it takes to drag something to the end. I've lived that raw and kept projects breathing with no net underneath. Anger fueled the rage from being ground down, dismissed, and f*cked over time and again. That's what pushed me to build something that doesn't fake it, doesn't soften edges, and doesn't turn away when reality bites hard. It's why I do any of this. I'm pissed forging my own path from the wreckage.
MY IDEA WAS BORN
MY Background
I built the RAPP // PERSPECTIVE straight from the trenches where I lived it all. This idea came from watching too many independent projects crash because creators and business never connected. I planted myself dead center between them after spotting that divide. Creators threw their souls into ideas fueled by sheer belief in what could be. They bet passion would seal everything.
Business measured each step by raw risk and solid escape routes. They locked in control to guard their stakes.
Both crowds rolled up pretending they synced up perfectly. The truth hit hard every time because they never did. Gaps widened into failures that buried good potential.
I skipped siding with either camp. I claimed the in-between to bridge what they missed.
All this sprang from those raw hits and hard-won shifts. It shapes my every move now under constant heat with responsibility baked deep.
I entered the industry as crew, not as a financier.
From 2013 to 2023 I worked in film and television production in roles from PA and secretary through coordinator and supervisor to associate producer and producer. I was responsible at different points for days made, vendor payments, cost reports, and delivery against fixed budgets on studio and network backed shows, streamer work, and one feature I produced.
Those years gave me a close view of how decisions made in development and prep show up later in call sheets, overtime, cost reports, and delivery pressure. I saw projects that held and projects that strained budgets, schedules, and relationships.
Larger productions could absorb some of that. Smaller ones often could not.
In 2023 I moved formally onto the finance side. I began working with private capital on film and IP driven ventures and started applying the discipline I had learned in production to models, incentives, and risk.
That is where the work that became Rapp // Consulting began.
My Expertise
I work in capital and development with a base in physical production. Today my work sits in two places at once. On the production side, I understand what it takes to get through prep, shoot, and delivery with fixed time and money. On the finance side, I read budgets, financial models, waterfalls, use of funds, and incentive layouts with the same discipline investors apply. My expertise is reading a project in both ways at once. As something that has to survive real production conditions, and as a proposed use of capital that has to make sense under review from private investors, funds, and operating companies.
